ABOUT US
Dylan James Miller was only 21 years old when he graduated to heaven but left a lasting impact on all that knew him. Dylan never met a stranger, he was always smiling and trying to make anyone he could laugh or smile. He was always the first one to volunteer when anyone needed help no matter what it was. He might have just met you or he may have known you for years. It made no difference to him. He always left you feeling better when he was around. Dylan also had a passion for working on cars. He was constantly tinkering on something for his self or for someone else. This is how Dylan passed, doing what he loved. He was at an elderly man’s house working on his compact car for him. This should have been a quick fix but the jack failed and Dylan was left with a critical head injury that took his life 2 days later.
Dylan’s dream was to be a certified Diesel Mechanic. He would have been starting classes later in the year working towards his certification but heaven had other plans.
The Dylan Miller Memorial Foundation, Inc was started for 2 specific reasons. The first reason was to fund a scholarship for others who were Pursuing their dream of being a mechanic, just like Dylan. Even though Dylan was not able to realize his dream we want to make sure others have the opportunity to realize theirs.
The second reason has to do with how not only our community but others across the nation helped out when Dylan went to his heavenly home. Like a lot of young adults Dylan did not have any Life Ins and the burden was left to his family to figure out how they were going to pay for their loved one's burial. Losing someone, especially someone as young as Dylan, is hard enough without having to deal with the financial difficulties that come with it. With the help of others, the family was able to pay for the funeral and his headstone. The outpouring of love from others was amazing and we want to be able to help other families that are going through the same thing difficulties.
